Terms of Event Participation

By registering with Society Dog, I agree to the following terms, as set forth below, for participation in all Society Dog Events: 

 Owner Representations

Owner represents that their pet(s) is in all respects is healthy and has received and plans to keep current all required and customary shots - Rabies, Distemper, Bordatella and that said pet(s), does not suffer from any disability, illness or condition which could affect said pet(s) or other pet's safety while at a Society Dog function or walk. 

Acknowledgement of Risks and Responsibilities

I recognize that there is inherent risk of injury or illness in any environment associated with walks, whether on or off leash.  I also recognize that such risks include without limitation, injuries or illness resulting from fights, rough play, contagious diseases and or unwanted pregnancies.  Knowing these inherent risks and dangers I warrant that I will abide by all safety rules and instructions (see Society Dog Rules of Enjoyment).  I agree by this contract to assume full responsibility and hold Society Dog LLC and its agents or employees harmless for said pet(s) illness, injury, death or other damage as a result of any incident including my or others misconduct of Society Dog.  I further agree to hold Society Dog LLC harmless and indemnify it against all defense costs, fees and business losses resulting from any claim I make or cause to be made against Society Dog, for which its agents or employees are not ultimately held to be legally responsible. 

Owner Liability

I expressly agree to be held responsible for any damage or costs incurred by my pet(s), including destruction of personal property, as well as injury inflicted upon another dog as a result of a fight or rough play.  

I represent that I have made full disclosure and have read, understand, accept the terms and conditions stated in this agreement and acknowledge that this agreement shall be effective and binding upon parties. 

Paw and Order

     All dogs need to recognize basic commands, such as sit, stay, heel and come. (Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Society Dog) 

      All dog owners will pick up after their pet at all times. BYODB. (Bring your own doggy bags and enough to share)                 

      All dogs must be on a 4-6 foot leash unless specifically allowed at certain events. For safety reasons, no retractable leashed are allowed.

      Owners must be in full control of their dogs at all times.

      Refrain feeding your pet in the company of other dogs. Dogs and food are know to cause aggressive behavior.

Terms of Membership

All members must be at least 18 years of age.

Basic Membership is free.

Pre-furred Membership entitles the member to the benefits listed below for $29.95 + $9.95 administrative fee for one full year with membership.  Administrative fee is a one-time 1st year fee for continuous memberships.   

Your Pre-Furred Membership entitles you to:

1. Discounts at Society Dog events

2. Discounts and special offers with "pre-furred" merchants, i.e. pet stores, pet service providers, dog trainers, and dog friendly establishments establishments.  (Coupons may be downloaded from the Society  Dog Members Only website and presented to participating  merchants, along with membership card, to take advantage of offers.)*

3. Discounts on the rental of the Society Dog  bus  for your personal outing!

4. A members-only Society Dog Bandana & Membership Card

5. An invitation to an exclusive Member/Guest event

6. Advance notice via email of special events and Society Dog bus trips

Pre-Furred Members Paying by Paypal

Your user name and password will be activated after Paypal confirms your payment. Your membership packet, including your membership card and bandana, will be mailed to you via snail mail within 1 week.

Use your user name and password to go the Pre-furred Members Only site and choose your bandana size under the link to "Paw'ferences. You may add and make changes to all your personal information on the Paw'ferences pages.

Pre-Furred Members Paying by Check

Your user name and password will be activated after payment is received.  Your membership packet, including membership card and bandana, will be sent via snail mail within 2 weeks of receipt of payment.

 Merchant Benefits

Merchants, as well as their discounts and special offers may change without notice. Society Dog does not guarantee the continued involvement of any “Pre-furred Merchant”.  Please check the Members website for changes.

Yap Fest Policy

The opinions reflected through this forum do not necessarily reflect that of Society Dog.  Society Dog Yap Fest moderators reserve the right to remove anyone from this list without notice for any reason they deem appropriate.

This forum may not be used for marketing purposes other than for Society Dog Pre-furred Merchants & Society Dog sponsored events as posted by the Society Dog moderators.  

The promotion of activities/events for other dog-focused nonprofit (501c3) organizations is allowed, unless deemed by the moderators to be inappropriate.

Appropriate email courtesy is to be used at all times. Maddog requests that all Yap Fest users follow the 10 dog-e-commandments of email:

• Thou shalt include a clear and specific subject line.

• Thou shalt edit any quoted text down to the minimum thou needeth.

• Thou shalt read thine own message thrice before thou sendeth it.

• Thou shalt ponder how thy recipient might react to thy message.

• Thou shalt check thy spelling and thy grammar.

• Thou shalt not curse, flame, spam or USE ALL CAPS.

• Thou shalt not forward any chain letter or Internet rumor.

• Thou shalt not use email for any illegal or unethical purpose.

• Thou shalt not rely on the privacy of email, especially from work.

• When in doubt, save thy message overnight and reread it in the light of dawn.

Society Dog reserves the right to refuse membership to anyone or to rescind membership from anyone at anytime.
